Hey, friends. A handful of new tools and accessories will be released in the US and Canada on May 1 — including the CT SYS!

Here’s what you should know:

CT SYS
The CT SYS is a mobile dust extractor that allows you to work, clean and stay productive anywhere and everywhere. It’s great when you’re working in tight spots — closets, rafters, etc. — or just don’t want to haul around a traditional dust extractor. It has full unit HEPA certification. Get big performance in a small tool!

SYS-Combi 2 & SYS-Combi 3
The latest additions to the Systainer family will help you stay organized, professional and productive. Keep your tools, accessories and consumables in one, portable container.

SORTAINER SYS-4
All of your small tools and consumables can be added to your Systainer systems with the new Sortainer, which is lighter than traditional Sortainers and includes a new style of drawer latch, removable dividers, and placements for removable (optional) storage boxes.

Talk to your preferred Festool dealer about getting your hands on the new tools!

This all looks really interesting. IS anyone using these already and can provide some feedback on them?

I'm pretty sold on the CT Sys - the mini has been good, but of the work I do even smaller would be ideal.

I'm curious about the SYS Combi and new Strainer Sys-4

Thanks for the announcement [member=57769]TylerC[/member]  Looking forward to all of these.

I have all of them (I returned the Sortainer SYS-4 though) and I find them all really useful. The SYS-Combi is awesome, I got one for each of my routers and one for the C18 so all the goodies for the drill is in the drawers below. I also got me a dark gray one for my CXS kit at home. :)

The CT SYS I don't use all that often but sometimes it is just perfect to bring for the smaller tasks and clean ups. It does not have variable suction / suction control though.

The Sys Combis are great.  They are even greater when you replace the lid with the lid storage lids.  I got Sys IIs with lid storage from Lee Valley and put them on three of my Combis.

Does the Sortainer SYS4 top open as a lid?  Or is this a complete drawer stack?

Regards,
Gerald

[member=20329]Gerald_D[/member], as like the Classic line of Sortainers, the top is non-functioning. This is, in essence, a set of drawers in a Systainer.

Thanks Shane- hope answering this question didn't take you away from your April fools fun...

Re the Sortainer-SYS-4,
No it does not open on top, just pull out drawers. It has a smaller t-lock type lever at the top.
You can purchase it with or without the plastic box inserts but be aware the base tray of each drawer has little prongs that stick up to help secure the boxes when they are inserted.
I have a couple of the Sortainer sys4's (without the extra plastic boxes) and was surprised with the little prongs sticking up, and not give a smooth surface entirely. It's not been an issue since if needed one can cover them with a small thin rubber mat or card. Each tray holds a surprising amount of bits n pieces that I was constantly having to find/place. Now they are all in the same place and easy to get to. Each drawer tray is divided into three with long dividers deep enough for pencils, driver extension bits, drill bits etc.
The sortainers are darn heavy when full so I don't lug them around much,  just sit within reach on my workbench. Handy to get to whatever drill bits, my MFS kit pieces - like the screwdriver, router bushings, angle brackets etc, drivers or marking tools etc I need. I'd love to have a couple more but they do cost a pretty penny and I'm sure there are other ways to store ones odd 'n ends etc but nonetheless a very sturdy well made systainer that you'll find is so useful. :)

Newbie here.  I found the three-drawer Sys4 on Ebay for about $113 from a UK seller and ended up buying two.  With shipping the total was still less than $150 for each.  I stack them on one of my rolling carts and now have a mobile bank of 6 drawers.  The three drawer arrangement is very useful and they hold quite a lot.  I bought the additional small storage boxes to insert in the drawers for the first Sys I bought but now find I prefer them without the boxes.  I have the separate small screw storage stronger for the small bits. I keep several of the MFT rapid clamps in one to the drawer bays and find that there is always something that needs an organized storage place.  It has allowed me to relocate a lot of tools and things I previously kept in my mobile table saw drawers. The Sys 4 units are stout and somewhat heavy and, when loaded, are probably more than one would want to carry.  In all, a highly useful additional to the Festool family.

I bought a Sys-Combi 2 a week ago and installed the dividers in the middle of the drawer. Now I want to remove the dividers and they want to stay in the Sys-Combi. Simply pulling up on the dividers does not seem to have any effect.

Is there a simple way to remove them without taking the large dividers out?

There is a "lock in tab" on the bottom edge of the divider. You need to flex the center of the divider to one side a bit and pull up in order to release it.

Seth,

I am referring to the smaller dividers that go side to side. Do I have to take out the large dividers that go front to back to get the small dividers out?

Sorry I missed that in the firs post. I don't have any small dividers. Did they come with the Combi or were they a separate part ?

I believe they come with the small containers that include the compartment dividers, part no. 201124

Correct- they come with the package of little bins.  I got a set with my Sortainer Sys4 last Friday and installed one.  They do fit quite tight and was difficult to remove.  I was able to flex it enough without removing the long divider to slide it back out.  I guess I'll have to think this through before installing the rest of them.

Gerald

Here's a SYS-Combi 3 that I set up for the 1010.
