I've wanted to do this for a while and had planned on just buying a 26 tub but a friend with a 26 wanted the larger capacity of the 36 so we swapped. Everyone's happy!
The big reason for me was so I could close my truck topper without laying down the vac, but also it would just be that much easier to handle. Not having the capacity isn't an issue for me as I don't need to use bags and even sanding a large house would maybe fill it half way and it's really easy just to empty it into an empty mud box.

This may be a silly question as I don't do a alot of drywall, but my guys are using my vacs alot now...

You said that you are running the vac without a bag and using a tub? Can you give me some more details?

Thx!

This is the AUTOclean vac, it's designed specifically for the planex and to run without a bag. The filter cleans itself intermittently by opening a valve inside that causes the negative pressure in the vac to blast the dust out of the filter. By tub I mean the dust bin on the bottom. Any of the other vacs you still need a bag for.
