I recently decided that I would try to fit my CMS modules into a spare MFT table.
It is still a work in progress but I thought that if I posted my progress to date the FOG would offer some more suggestions.
My original work is for an MFT800. It would apply to an MFT1080 and I am pretty sure will work with an MFT/3.
It is based on a length of 50 x 50 x 6 mm aluminium angle and I think that with some slight variation would work with a 2" x 2" x 1/4" aluminum angle (this is for our NA friends).
The mod can also be extended to mount two CMS modules in one full size MFT at the same time.
You need to cut three pieces of angle, one to go across your MFT and two to hold the first one in place.

This shows how the angle is mounted using two 15 x 8 mm nuts & bolts and a 20 x 8 mm CS screw & nut.
You will notice that the top of the angle is flush with the edge of the MFT rebate.

With an APX85 module in the table. Also shows my fence which is made of the same angle and can be placed any where on the table to allow much wider cuts than can be achieved with the CMS.

With the sander unit mounted around the other way to give support to much wider boards. The large gap in the table will be filled with a piece of 6 mm aluminium when it arrives.
The 6 mm dimension is critical as it makes the work surface level with the modules and the MFT frame.

With the CMS module removed and replaced by the original MFT top it is back to normal.
I would also note that the normal CMS module locks work on the 6 mm angle or edge of the MFT (which is also 6 mm).
