I have actually been waiting for the Kapex since I became addicted to these high quality german made tools last year. I think I have found every review, every comment and every blog on the Kapex, and I still Google "Kapex" ever morning. I told my wife that at least I don't surf the web for adult entertainment (P*rn). She actually appreciates Festool quality as much as I do, but her favorite feature with Festool tools are the Systainers. The fact that I sold all of those mismatched black plastic tool cases and tools and replaced them with quality tools with neatly storable cases pleased her. I have actually, found more room in my shop since the conversion. That means more room for her hobby, which is painting. Well, she also likes the C12, because it is small, balanced, light weight and powerful.
Ok, back to the Kapex. My local source is a Woodcraft Store. Mike, the owner of the WC Franchise, has been trying to sell me Festool for years. I would look at the tools, check my wallet and then buy a DeWalt or a Porter Cable. I guest what bothered me with Festool, was that I needed to order it and wait for it to be shipped. I am a buy a tool as I need it kind of guy. When Festool changed its method of selling in the USA, I had already accumulated a lot of hand power tools. Mike finally sold me a 6 inch Rotex and a CT33, wow was I impressed! I started looking at Festool in a totally different light. Next was the TS75EQ and the MFT1080, then the Domino, then the C12, then the 1400 EQ, and now I just have to have a Kapex!
This stuff if fantastic! The quality of my projects has improved ten fold. I am not as good as some of you guys in this forum, but I believe I have improved since converting to Festool. Dudes, there are some real artists and truly professional woodworkers here on FOS. It is a real inspiration for me to see the incredible work completed by your members. This has become one of my favorite sites to visit.
Ok, Ok, back to the Kapex. My name is on the box in inventory at my local Woodcraft. I have gone to visit her a couple times since her arrival, she is very comfortable resting on a shelf waiting for me to pick her up. I plan on arriving at 8:45 AM on July 1, 2008 to pick her up. Unfortunately, I have to work that day, but I will be ready to set her up as soon as I get home.
Oh yes, I have got it bad! ;D
