CPO Festool Problems?

I just received a couple of items from CPO Festool, the guide stop for the OF 1400 router #492601 and the edge guide #492636. Both items came in simple cardboard boxes with no inside packaging whatsoever and no manuals. The guide stop came with the support foot and the edge guide came with the dust hood. The items appear brand new with no scratches or blemishes but what SHOULD they have been packed in and am I missing anything?

In my experience, included instructions tend to be a bit of a rarity when it comes to accessories.

In the case of 492601...

...the instructions are part of the OF1400 manual, ie:

...the instructions are also in the same manual, on the page shown above and the previous page.

As regards packaging, blister packs are very common, and if you haven't been in a Festool dealer's shop, there are some typical photos at http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-sales-dealer-area/opinions-on-uk-dealers/msg91438/#msg91438 which show how many items are packaged ready for display.

CPO Festool may be re-packaging items to make them more suitable for posting. Input from one of the dealers who are members of FOG would be welcome here - do you know if it's common practice to remove items from the display packaging and box them up for posting?

Forrest,

Thanks for the info. As you say I am used to getting well-packaged accessories in plastic which is why I was surprised at the ones from CPO. My main concern is that there may be something missing in the box. I don't think there is but I would love a definitive answer from someone else who has these pieces.

As an aside, these pieces are seriously heavy-duty. I think they weigh more than the router itself which bodes well for extra stability!

Richard, I fairly certain you've gotten all the pieces.

Brice is correct (surprised? ;)). There are instructions with those two accessories, but as Forrest has mentioned, they are not in the box, but are referenced in the 1400 manual, and the guide stop 492-601 boxing is very plain Jane.

Brice / Bob,

Thanks for the confirmation. It's good to know that everything is in order. I also want to say that CPO was excellent to deal with, shipping was fast and as I said before there is no doubt that the pieces are new.

Thanks
Richard.

a big note of thanks to SHANE at FESTOOL for his participation in resolving my concerns about the T15 from CPO.

FESTOOL has definitely lived up to its reputation for stellar customer service.

thanks again,

Glad to hear it is solved to your satisfaction Shawn, but what we all really like to hear, is how was it solved exactly?  [cool]

I just saw this thread and looked inside the lid of my T15 systainer and it's scraped up exactly where Brice's is marked.  It's obviously rubbing against the battery and most probably occurred during the initial shipping.  Up until now, I never bothered to look.  Don't really care either.
