This is my latest project.  I designed this table around 2 antique, English, arts and crafts style, leaded windows that my wife and I found in an antique shop many years ago.  The windows are in original, un-restored condition.  The table frames the windows beneath a large glass top and is built of quartersawn white oak.  Framing and a large Plexiglas panel support the window as they are very fragile and would otherwise collapse from their own weight.  The legs are "quadralinear" so that the ray-fleck pattern in the oak is visible on all 4 sides.  As an added touch I included inlays of copper and ebony.

Enjoy.

Thanks

That's really cool I like that a lot. Really nice work

Thanks.  I also do work building my own leaded glass panels but over the years I've had the opportunity to  purchase a number of arts and crafts style leaded glass panels that I've incorporated into furniture.  I have 2 in the doors of a stereo cabinet, one in a tall case clock, and these 2 in the dining room table.  This was the most unique use of them.  These panels are so fragile, due to a poor design when they were built, that this is the only way I could think of to use them.  There are just too many places where there are leaded seams that run all across the panel and act as a weak point where the panel can just fold and break apart.  I don't know what the craftsman who built these was thinking when they were constructed a hundred years ago, or so.  I'm glad I was able to rescue them and give them a new life

Thanks again.

Thanks for sharing such beautiful work.  It is great that you could save the window and include it in a new piece.

Very impressive. The antique windows are beautiful as well as your overall design.
