Hiya,
my 20 yr old table saw is showing signs of burnout finally.
living in western australia its ripped plenty of recycled hardwood ...overheating , overloaded cutout always tolerable. startup again after small rests.
Running a 2200 watt motor me thinks. Not savvy with Festool motors.
Anyways, these built in functions have become intolerable. (tetchy) struggling to rip 35mm pine without cutout
Q. is this fix a simple spares refit to these components hopefully remote from the motor/ or...
are these components built in to the motor assembly and therefore potentially a (worst case scenario) new motor refit?
Any advice appreciated......

This is impossible to say without some proper problem shooting on the spot. It does sound like your motor might need to be replaced. If you're lucky it's just filled up with saw dust after 20 years which might cause the overheating, but I have low hopes for that. You really need to have your saw checked by Festool. Good luck.

Do you use an old/dirty/dull blade? Might well be the difference between a swift cut and one that stalls/binds.

Everyone has pretty much covered it,

Replace Brushes,
Clean sawdust
Check, clean, replace blade if necessary.

If none of the above works out, call festool service.

will do all of the above ...starting with brushes.  "men in the fog"  Thanks !
