CS70 VB Extension Table Measurement Scale Calibration

I'm hoping someone might be able to help. I have the right hand extension table for the CS70 (CS70 VB) and I'm finding it impossible to calibrate the measurement scale to the main table.

The measurement scales are movable by loosening some small screws that enable the scale to be moved by a few mm left or right in order to calibrate the scales.

The problem I'm having is that, after calibrating the scale on the main table, there isn't enough room to move the extension table's scale across to the left. In using the rip fence, the scale is showing about 2mm less than the actual cut.

If anyone can offer any tips on calibrating the extension table, I'd be very grateful. Surely it should be more accurate than this?!

The room you have with the holes of the scale should be enough to cover the -small- variances you can get. If that doesn't work, as in your case, there must be a fault somewhere else.

You probably have a too much play where the extension touches the main table. Check your table and extension if everything connects as tight as possible and there are no deformations.

It is also possible that the saw carriage on the main table is a bit out of line. This is a more complicated problem.

If you can't find anything wrong, you could consider slightly enlarging the holes on the scale with a drill or Dremel tool so you get the extra 2 mm you need.

Thanks for your reply. You might remember from a previous post that the saw has just come back from Festool after the whole motor housing came loose. I would hope that this means everything is now as it should be but my confidence has been a bit knocked as a result.

There is no play in the extension and it's been set up as per the manual. I will have another tinker however.

im also having the same problem with my cs70. it seems to connect together properly but when I try to align the extension measurement scale it actually touches the existing scale on the main body - meaning that I'm a couple of mm's out. did you manage to resolve the issue?
