CT 15 outlet issues

I have a CT 15 dust extractor that I bought new about 6 months ago and any tool I plug into the outlet doesn't fully plug into the outlet. The plug only goes into the outlet a little more than half way and if the cord is moved enough it loses contact and the tool shuts off or easily pull out of the outlet.

Does anyone else have this issue? I've tried firmly pressing the male end into the outlet put there's no way it can go any further in without breaking something it seems.

I'd get it serviced through festool, then use a short 1-3' extension cord to plug tools into. I did this on my midi to remove wear from the outlet. I zip tied the cord to the hose garage to further reduce stress on the connection.

This is a good solution. With solid prongs you can file the ends to make it easier to insert.

I like this kind of thinking outside the box. I'd prefer it just work out of the box but this is a lot simpler than having to send it in for repairs and being without something I need almost daily. Thanks

I have never had the problem with mine, but all I have ever plugged into it was a genuine Festool Plug-it cable. I didn't know this was a thing?

I use the extender because I don't like lifting up the spring-loaded cover every time I plug in a tool.

I get that ChuckS, that partly why I added that splitter thing to my CT26. The CT15 however, I rarely mess with the cable. It gets plugged in and I just swap the tool on the other end.

Sounds right for an extractor dedicated for the use of Festool machines.

That is pretty much what I do, especially with the CT15. I put the electrical splitter plug on the CT26 because I use the Lamello Zeta with it. Then I just swap the hose back and forth with the DF500.
My miter saw is connected to the shop's dust collection system and there really isn't much of anything else that gets connected to the extractors, other than the router table, but it is plugged into a separate outlet, so it's just the hose too.
