Hi just looking for a bit of help/common experience with the dust extractor. Running in a dry operation setting extracting saw dust from my Kapex. The extractor on "auto" is starting to cut out/switch off erratically when making cuts etc. Similar to when I was using it for wet vacuuming once, when the water level was high, it would shut off.

Is there anything I can do before having to send this in for repair? I am guessing a sensor is getting tripped somewhere. Have cleaned out the hepa filter and also running on an empty bag.

Maybe clean the water sensor too?
It has no way of knowing if there is water in there or not, expect that there is a sensor.

There are three metal tabs and a 'sensor' below where the hose goes into the base.
The top with the motor, has contacts for the three tabs.
I would start with measuring the resistence between tabs "A-B", "B-C", and "A-C".
Pretty much mine would start and then shut off, an the resistence was >3k Ohm, and often ~300k ohms.

Some crap on the sensor could in theory be the problem. But masure the resistence first to document where it is at.

I would clean mine with clear water and it would still trip out and needed to be sent in.

I have further isolated the problem to the cutting out happening only when the saw is under load. Tech at festool canada said something similar in that the sensors may need cleaning.

I hate to have to send this thing away again as it's the backbone of everything in the shop!
