CT 26 Power problem?

I recently purchased a festool CT26 vacuum, I have used it a few times prior to today, then today I was using it continuously for about 30 minutes to 1 hr (I thought it was about 30 minutes, but I lost track of time, so it could have been closer to 1 hour. The vacuum shut off, and won't restart. I assume it was overheated and shut off for temperature, but it has been off for a couple of hours, and it still won't restart. It acts like it is starting, then immediately shuts down. I am using it with a dust deputy.

I have checked all of the hoses, the filter bag and the filter, everything is open with no obstruction. I don't see anything in the manual, but is there a switch that I need to reset if it overheats? If not are there any other options?

Will it be early jan before you can get hold of festool to arrange a repair? I guess you have checked the power outlet and all is  well with it?

I did check the power, it is fine.  The vacuum starts and runs for 1-3 seconds then it immediately shuts down, it doesn't seem to get to full power before it shuts down.

Thats a shame it looks like you have joined a very small goup as the ct's are very reliable with very few reports of issues at least you have the superb service of festool to sort out your problem hopefully you had no major woodworking planed for the break.

Very sorry to hear that you're experiencing problems with your CT, but welcome to the forum.

The simplest solution might be exchanging it for a new unit with your dealer, assuming that it's convenient to do so and you're within 30 days of your purchase being made.

If not, please contact our service department and they will take good care of you. They will be open Tuesday through Friday of the coming week from 8a-5p ET. Their number is below in my signature.

try it with the filters and hose etc removed to see if it those. try it with and with out a tool starting it. if nothing works its shagged and needs rpair

Exchange it. I run two of them together which makes  them work harder. And I run them ALL day while I sand floors. It gets very hot in the room with all the machines running as well.
Mine have never shut off even after the bags been full and I didnt empty it!

Thanks for the response.  I contacted service this morning and I will be sending the unit in as soon as I receive the shipping information from them.
