I finally gave in and purchased the ct 36 vac with the planex sander haven't used the planex yet. I did get to use my vac today I was surprised at how much power it had really happy with the suction. It does need to be more maneuverable though its hard to move over with out stopping put your stuff down move the vac and pick up your stuff and start again. Now I see why fein made theirs the way they did with all the wheels on the bottom.
I like that it is pretty quiet since we work mostly in hotels.
The vac attachment kit was a must have since I wanted everything to fit with out using duct tape to hold the pieces together. I hooked up the floor cleaner attachment to vacuum up the carpet about every ten seconds it would give me quit a static shock. The hose was a bear to get on the wand had to really push and shove, The floor attachment was really hard to get off of the wand after using it most of the day, My wife would never be able to put in on or take it off.
The other attachments were ok not tough plastic like I thought it would be kind of thin and flimsy no different than the attachments from the big box store and the dust brush is a disappointment it needs a better thicker and set of bristles on it they seemed really lacking by festool standards.
I think they should put it in a smaller systainer since the hose goes in the storage area on the vac, its way to big to attach it to the vac and get into it (I don't want to carry an extra bucket to stand on to get my stuff out.;). Im still not sure its worth the 230.00 that they are charging for it, seems a bit overpriced for what you get.
This is my first review but I am hooked on the festool products, dove in head first.

Thanks for review. I am looking to purchase planex and same vac and would like to follow thread to see how you feel about  operation

Thanks for the review! Am looking to purchase a new vacuum too, and the static shock is a big concern for me.  I'm currently using a combination of a Rigid 16 gallon and a Fein mini turbo.  Between coats of paint, i'll vacuum off the door and drawer fronts with a bristle brush on the Rigid.  Static shock is really bad  [scared] and don't even want to continue with the project till resolved.  Festool is supposed to be anti-static, do you know why you're getting shocked?

I have this same Vac and the Planex, haven't gotten any static shocks, so I don't know why the OP from Feb. was getting them.  Not sure which Cleaning Kit he bought, the price sounds like the Tradesman Kit, but I thought it used metal tubes like my WorkShop Cleaning Kit.  At any rate, he hasn't posted since Feb. , so you wonder if with warmer weather, and not so dry air, that the static issue went away for him.
However, I own both the Plastic tubed Compact Cleaning Kit, and the Workshop Kit, and neither has given me any trouble with any of the 3 CT's that I used them with.  I do always use a Anti-Static Hose with them.

Thanks for the reply, leakyroof. Yeah, the air here can get quite dry and I'd really like to avoid what happened last time!  Static shock taking a shot at eliminating my ability to produce a family legacy was NOT cool!  Going to call around to some of the local supply shops to see if they have any thoughts on how the machine performs here.
