I know this topic has been addressed many times, but I'm new and can't find it on here.

Just purchased a CT 36E and am happy with it so far.  My only complaint is dealing with the plug it cord and the hose separately.  Being that it is a newer model, mine came with the sleeved anti-static hose.  I see no reason to spend the money and purchase the Festool Hose with Sleeve given that all I'm trying to do is combine the plug it with the hose.

I've seen all the hose sleeve kits that cover the whole setup, but I'm thinking that some heat shrink tubing every once in a while along the length of the hose will serve the purpose I need.  I've never used it before, but with the 27mm hose, what size tubing would I purchase?  Anyone tried anything like this with the newer hose?  I don't want to use velcro or zip ties as I know they would get hung up.  Any other recommendations?  Thanks.

I can't help you with a sleeve recommendation, but I would suggest living with it for a while;  you might find that you will learn to accommodate it before long.

At least that was my experience;  it its a bit of a pain but I found it became a minor deal before very long.

Good luck;  you'll love that CT.

I bought cable clips for my new style hose off EBay from a Brit that sells under the store name...gadgets_for_You, search for Festool cable clips. .net

Several years ago I bought enough of the braided hose cover to do three hoses.  After covering the first one and using it for a bit I took the stuff off.  It make the hose too stiff and the plug it end of the cord never seemed to be long enough between the hose end and the tool connection.  I now have a few of the new more flexible hoses, I really don't have any issues with the separate cord and hose.

Most of my work is site work but I have a CT48 with a boom arm in my shop.  I can't tell you how awesome it is to feed the cord and hose from above my head!  Now all I need to to is add a work center to my CT and I'll be set!
