Ct AC 36 vac stopped working

So I got my vac in May,  it's seen moderate use.  I was vacuuming dust off the floor when the autoclean feature engaged even though the setting was at zero.  It had done this many times until today, directly after the autoclean cycle, the vac stopped working.  The plug on the vac does work however on auto setting,  so my sander will work running through the vac, but the vac won't turn on.  The vac won't run on the manual setting either, which was where it was when the vac stopped.

Has anyone else had issues with their Ac vac.  It seems the problem arose due to the autoclean feature.  I'm taking the vac now to my dealer for servicing, but I'm nervous now after three years if this will happen again.

you go to russel supply?

sorry to hear that about the vac.

Jay,

Sorry to hear about the problems. Your dealer will not be able to service the unit and taking it to them is an unnecessary trip and may delay getting your unit sent back to us. I would recommend that you contact our service department on Monday. They will issue a call tag since this is the first year of warranty to pick up the unit for repair.

Yeah I did go to Russell Supply, great guys there.

Thanks Shane, I'm in no hurry to get it back.  So if takes a little longer that's ok with me.  I gave them my address and asked them if they could get it directly shipped to my house, hopefully they can, but I don't mind picking it up.  I really have enjoyed using the vac, it's awesome, and festool service is top notch making it very comforting to know when things break.  I'm curious to know what happened. Do the service guys  tell you what they fixed when it's under full warranty Shane?

There's a sheet of paper included any time work is done on a tool that has record of what was done. Although I can't speak as to how specific it might be.

My ct22 would stop intermittently, if I tapped on the box it would start up again. It seemed to be a dead spot in the motor. I sent it in for service on a Friday and recieved it back the following Thursday! There was a single sheet of paper with a few check boxes, mine had a check next to "replaced motor" That was it.

I was planing to be without for a few weeks and was very pleasantly surprised!

Nice testimonial. I've posted it before here, but probably worth saying again. First, our service team is incredible and very dedicated to the same level of service that I can be seen offering our customers here and other places online. Secondly, we have a goal to turn around all service work within 48 hours from the time the tool is received. In most cases, it's 24 hours. So, when you send us a tool, it's pretty much guaranteed to spend more time in the hands of the courier than in ours.

Don't have the AC version but my 9 month old CT 36 exhibits the same issue as yours, hardly used it at all, went to use it one day and just won't start.. haven't resolved as is process of moving house.
