CT-VA 20 Retro Fit Kit

I bought the original model of the cyclone and realized it didn't have the hold down straps.  I do see that some retailers still sell this retrofit kit.  Does anyone have any experience with the cyclone with and without the straps?  Is it worth the $50 to buy them?  Does it really "seal" the cyclone that much better?

I cant definitely say it works better with out without as I have never used it without the straps- but I wouldn't want to use it without securing the top and dust container together for concern about the seal not being adequate and out of fear of knock/pulling the whole thing off of the systainer base stretching the hose to far or other.

In lieu of the straps at $50, perhaps look for some short bungees to secure the top and bottom together. I mocked up how I might approach it below.
