I'm going to buy a CT22 Vac and I am trying to decide if I should get a hose garage or an empty systainer to keep the hose and cord in and maybe some nozzles. If anyone has an opinion I would like to hear from you. Thanks

Verl,

Get the hose Garage.

Well, actually it depends on the work you do and your habits.

It works for me, 'cause I go room to room house to house etc.

If you just work in one spot, home shop, systainer might be cleaner.

Bigger hoses don't fit as well or at all, but it's nice to be able to shove it and go if you take it around with you.  If it's going to be stationary then put $$ towards boom arm

Either the D27 or D36 hoses will fit within the hose garage.  One little advantage to the hose garage is that you can have it connected for use and leave any excess hose coiled within the garage and out from underfoot.  Another is that it is not as tall as a Systainer large enough for hose storage -- leaving more room on top for more Systainers.

Here's a thought:

I have two CT22s.  One has the boom arm (no Garage) and stays in the shop.  A Systainer 4 goes on top of it.  I keep all of my Festool sandpaper, Toolie Tool, clamps, clamping elements and guide rail components (angle guide, stop blocks and rail connectors, for example) for the MFT's.  10 foot extension cord.  Also keep my shop apron, dust mask and hearing protectors in it.  The Systainer also keeps all this stuff relatively clean when I remember to close the lid.  Also handy to place the TS75, Domino or sanders.  Where the CT22 and boom arm go, so does all the stuff that I need close at hand.  I've read other FOG posts that have other great ways to use the Systainer-On-Top (SOT)

The other CT22 has the Garage on it with the small set of cleaning tools snapped on top.  The 22 is the utility player:  it goes to on-site jobs, vacuums up stuff on the floor that the hose on the boom arm can't reach and cleans the floor of my Honda.

I'm not advocating purchasing two CT22's.  What I'd like to say is that your choice of Systainer-On-Top (BeSOTted?) vs. Garage may depend upon projected/actual use.

I keep a Systainer (or more) on top of my hose garage.  Works like any stack that are latched together.

mm, same. I use it like another rollerboy. But when I get where I'm going, I like being able to put the tool in use down inside the garage and know that it won't end up falling off the MFT and hitting the floor.

That may be one of the best arguments for the garage yet.

It works really, really well for this. You can usually fit two tools in there at once, which is handy too when you're switching a lot.
