CT36 problem

Will call service in the morning, but seeing as Festool is currently closed, I thought I would ask other users if they have had a similar issue.

Hooked the TS75 up to the CT this evening to make a few cuts.  Turned the vac on to manual and tried to start up the saw but it wouldn't go.  Switched the CT to auto and the saw fired right up.  Mind you I had the CT plugged into a 15A outlet, so does the CT realize that there is not enough amperage to power up both tools at once on manual, or is there an issue with my CT?  (yeah, yeah I know it's supposed to be on a 20A blah blah blah but in a pinch we do what we have to do to get by.)

Oh, and one other thing.  Did anyone else read the front of the outlet:  blah, blah 3,1 amp maximum blah blah...
What is that just some UL crap that Festool had to put on there or is this thing only meant for the sanders?

Thanks,
Dan

Edit:
Canceling that call to Festool now.  Thanks Wood Junkie for your follow up.  Oh yeah the manual.....that makes sense. [doh]

My CT26 works the same.  When set to Manual, the plug has no power.   I figured that it was designed that way...  Please make sure to post the response from Festool service.

EDIT:
Okay, I did something totally crazy and read the owner's manual.    [embarassed]

Page 9:
The switch [1-8] serves as an On/Off switch. It has
three positions:
Switch position "0"
Appliance socket [1-3] is disconnected from the
power, mobile dust extractor is switched off.
"MAN" switch position
Appliance socket [1-3] is disconnected from the
power, the mobile dust extractor starts.

"Auto" switch position
Appliance socket [1-3] is connected to the power,
the mobile dust extractor starts when the connected
tool is switched on.

Dan,

We had a long drawn out discussion of the warning label with the 3.1 amps on it.  It was to pass U.L. certification and that is an unofficial non-Festool response due to the possible legal ramifications.  In Europe there is no warning label on their CT's and they hook them up to 15 amp circuits with another tool plugged in just fine.

WJ nailed it - the tool won't be allowed to run in "Manual" mode; only actuates the tool in "Auto" mode; no problem there.

In the UK we have the stickers as well.which is why I had cause to phone festool Uk as my comments in the other thread. We have 13amp and 16amp circuits as the norm.

JMB told me there were no stickers.  I don't think it would be different throughout the UK for a warning label requirement, so if yours has one than maybe the U.L. disease has spread to the motherland.

I don't know if it's the same as the mini/midi range here in the UK, but I seem to recall that on those, there were warning stickers on the 110v versions but not on the 230v.

Well maybe its a 110 volt thing then its on my 110v vac I will have to have a look at my 230v mini to see if its on that as well
