CT48 stops randomly

Recently my CT48 just stops when the power switch is in the On position (not Auto). It has done this about 3 times over a couple of months. Does that mean the switch is going bad? Or something else . .. ?

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I searched briefly but might not have put the right search words in.

Since the switch is physically put in position unlikely it would randomly cut out.
The switch would more likely cause it not turn on to begin with.

Is there an overheat safety? That would be my first guess.

Assuming your bag/filter isn't full of very fine dust?
