Custom Drill Systainer / Charging Station / Site Radio

What a great idea, looks great hope it sounds as good as it looks
You forgot to add a little hook for your van keys

If you did want to sell some does it become more valuable if it's NAINA for a while  [poke]

Wow very nice. How much of the foam is custom?

All of it. I just had some 6mm thick pieces. Some of it is laminated/glued up to make it thicker. Some of it is wrapped around 6mm MR MDF. Here's a pic of it before it was clad in the foam:

And here it is just as it was going in on one of the many test fits:

I was wondering how you got the nice bullnose on the top of some of the dividers.  Did not realize that you wrapped MDF but it makes a nice finished product.  I thought is was ALL foam.

Hi Jonny, did you use a template/jig of some sort to drill the holes for the speaker etc? They look *so* perfect...  [big grin]

Yes, I used a piece of vero board as a guide.

Vero board has holes of approximately 1mm diameter, but I drilled through into the systainer with a 1.5mm drill bit. Then de-burred the holes by hand (all 400 of them!) with a 3mm drill bit just between my fingers, inside & out.

Takes time but definitely worth it.

Wow. That must have been a fair chunk of the 12-15 hours! You are right though, definitely worth it for the quality result.

Like I said, it's time consuming, but no where near as much as you might be thinking. I think it took about 1/2 hour to do.

Well done, If you some how had the antenna outside you could keep the lid closed. So crude would not creep into the open lid. Beautifull job tho. [smile]

Funny (and timely!) that you should say that - I was on site today with Jon (a member on here aka roadkilled) and he'd forgotten his CT midi. Had to fit laminate worktops today - first job was cutting them to rough length with his TS55. First cut, all the sawdust came flying out the hose connector, straight into my open systainer!!! He was extremely apologetic, but I'm not that bothered - I can easily clean it out. We had a bit of a laugh about it, he said "that's going on FOG tonight!".

As it happens, the aerial generally doesn't need extending if there's a reasonable signal, so it's not really an issue. I didn't want the aerial on the outside as it would be prone to damage.

Yes and I still feel bad about it  [eek] I knew I should have gone back for the midi!!!! Have you got the Festool product codes for the drill set your getting for tha attic? Oh and the bit set if you have it mate. Need to get them priced up just incase  ;D

Found them cheers
