CXS charger DOA

Hi guys, thought I'd treat my self to a CXS for a job I have next week, which is change over about 60 hinges with brass screws on some windows. Thought this would be perfect for the task as my makita impact is a touch aggressive!

However when i went to charge the batteries today the charger is blinking red at me straight away, before I even put a battery in. Am I correct in assuming that my charger is faulty or am I doing something wrong when plugging it into the wall?! Im new to the Festool stuff, this is my first cordless tool from them so am a bit disappointed to say the least. looks like it will be the makita for the job next week after all.

Make sure the battery is seated correctly in the charger. Happens on the 18v ones, looks like a duff one and it's fine if you get it in right.

Bliinking red is fine , stick battery in , make sure battery is pushed tight up to terminals on charger ,, charge fully and enjoy  [smile]

thanks for the replies, looks like its started charging now! however I have to put the battery in before connecting it to the power, if I put the charger in first, I still get the yellow light for a second, then straight to blinking red and it stays blinking when I put the battery in. Although if I put the battery in before I plug the charger in it goes from the yellow light to blinking green. Is there still something wrong with the charger if I have to keep unplugging it from the wall to charge a battery?

Charger sounds faulty, I would contact festool.

My cxs charger does this too, you need remember when you think you've seated the battery to push it further in
