Hello guys,

I was told by the guys at Toolnut that the CXS drill will fit into a 4 drawer sortainer with no problem.

So I'm asking for anybody who had done this for some feed back.  Is it worth it?  Could you post some pics of the set up?

Thanks to fritter63 and his "more praises for CXS" thread about a month ago I have been thinking about buying the CXS.
So this past Friday I placed my order and it should arrive tomorrow!

I am currently using a couple mini systainers for my bits.  And I'm thinking that a 4 drawer sortainer will clean things up for me.

The only thing I'm not sure about (because I forgot ask Sean or Peter from Toolnut) is if I can use the insert from the CXS t-loc and put it
in the bottom drawer of the sortainer.

Any input would be great.

Thanks,
Eric

I put my C-12 in the big drawer on a sort 4.  I can fit all the chucks, drill, charger, 3 battery's and some other misc. stuff in there.

Drill bits in the middle drawer, tips in the left one and I think I jigsaw blades in the other drawer.

I store my cxs in a 4 drawer Sortainer. I love the extra storage of bits and I can carry everything in in one shot. The original insert won't fit but I made an insert from kaizen foam.

Dave!  [not worthy]

That's it!  I forgot all about the kaizen foam!  What is exactly what I needed to see.  Thank you!

Look's like I need to place an order with Toolnut AND Fastcap.

Wife isn't going to like this.  Good thing she is looking at a clothing catalog at the moment  [wink]

Maybe I need to buy two 4 drawer sortainers.  One for the CXS and one for the Makita I have.  Which my wife thinks is "going bad".

The reason I "NEEDED" to buy the CXS

HEY, will the Festool foam insert work with a 4 drawer sortainer?

487427??

Thanks,
Eric

Darn it Dave!  Your images might have finally pushed me into buying some Kaizen foam.  Growl! [embarassed]

Peter

I'm sure you could cut the Festool foam insert to fit but I don't think it's as practical as the kaizen foam. Plus the Festool foam is double the price of a 2'x4' sheet of kaizen foam. I used the 30mm foam for the cxs sortainer, I found the 30mm the most useful thickness.

I have been looking for a while and no one seems to have it in stock.  I hate having things back ordered and having to wait for it.

Great, now I have surrogate buyers remorse.....

LOL.......don't worry buddy,  it's not your fault (completely)    [wink].    I have been holding off on this purchase since it was introduced.

I just needed to get my Kapex before I bought this.  I had priorities.  [big grin]

Or, maybe you should purchase a 5-Drawer Systainer IV which has two (2) of the large drawers...

Yep, that's the next sortainer on my list.  In fact I've recently ordered one from japanwoodworker but they are out of stock.  They assured me they have a shipment inbound and would hope to have it available soon.
