Hi!

My old noisy shopvac started to make strange noise and is probably not going to last for long. I'm buying a new one. Still cannot decide Midi vs 26E. I see on forum that many had the same situation. I was considering Fein and Bosch, but i like the Festool organisation with storing the hose on top of it. Plus, with every powertool i have bougth (mostly Bosch and Makita), after a while i say to myself "why didnt pay the extra a got the Festool?". That is mostly because of some cool accesories or compatibilities.
With both Midi and 26E i get a 27/32 AS/CT hose. 27 and 32 are inner and outer diameter of tool connection? If not, could someone please tell me the diameters? Most of my power tool have a 35 mm inner diameter, so i was wondering about compatibility. There is no Festool shop where I live so i cannot check by myself.

And one more information about the warranty inside European Union, maybe someone had the same consideration. If i buy Festool online from German ebay store, do I have to claim warranty on Festool Germany or my local Festool service?

Hi,

The D27/32 hose is a tapered hose. It is 27 at the tool end and 32 at the vac end. The 27 and 32 are the ID of the hose.  The D27 tool end connection will fit inside your 35mm ID tool ports.

Hi,

thank you for the answer. So D27/32 hose that comes with the dust collector has a tool connection end with 35mm outer diameter? Excellent. I was a little worried about compatibility, mainly with my current tracksaw and router, because i thought that Festool has some different standard. I dont like aditional adaptors/reducers and duck tape.
Now i just have to decide... Midi or 26E  [big grin]

26 E Dust Collector - Absolutely
Later on... Add on Festool’s new Separator.
Save $$$ dust collection bags.👍
