D36 hoses

I've got both ribbed D27/32 and D36 hoses from circa 2018.  I'm thinking it's time for an upgrade to one of the sleeved hoses, but I'm honestly confused by the choices.

Specifically, there's now a D36/D32 tapered and D36 straight hose.  I've been using the D36 so far for the TS55, but I'm worried that the D32 end won't fit, or that it won't have the bayonette lock.  The official website isn't all too helpful other than saying the D32 is suited for autoclean.  :/

I still need a D27 end for sanders and dominos, but is the reducer 768135 a viable option or is it just too cumbersome?

Thanks.

The tapered 36/32 x 3.5 m AS/R comes with the 48 AC and I can tell you it's super nice. A bit big in comparison to the standard 27mm that comes with the other vacs, but I can hook it up to larger tools. If needed, I can still reduce it for use on the sanders and Domino.

Personally I'd go with a D27/32  #204921 and a D36 #204924. Or the same in longer lengths if you have need. That way you get the D27 end with all the nice handling  for most of the tools. As well as the full diameter D36 with size, suction, and air volume for chip producers and floor cleaning. Neither one encumbered by adapters.

Also the tool end of the D36 is designed to connect directly into the vac end of the 27/32. To instantly extend the length with no need for adapters.

To me the D36/32 seems like an oddball for general purpose tool use. Too big and too small.

I was planning on purchase some new hoses so thanks for the  D27/32 + D36 information.

For folks that do not want to buy new hoses, I have been using an Alto/WAP version of this for years. Plugs into the end of a D36 and connects up to the D27 tool. Then when I want to use the a floor nozzle attached to the extension tubes, I pull the adapter shown, slide in the curved hand tube (I have an older Alto/WAP stainless steel curved handle instead of the plastic one in the set) + extension tubes + floor nozzle and clean the floor.

Makes switching back and forth between sander, saw and cleaning very easy.

It's actually super versatile.

  • On my DeWALT 7491 table saw, I connect it with a silicone coupler designed for automotive use. Cost was under $20 for the coupler and it's a nice slip fit for the D36/32. Dust collection is shockingly good.
  • Direct fit on Bosch Glide Saw dust collection.
  • Direct fit into HL 850.
  • Direct fit onto DeWALT cordless palm router dust collection accessory.
  • Direct fit on OF 2200

The Festool sanders and Domino are the only items I have to use the reducer. If I wanted a direct fit, I'd just snag the 27mm off my girlfriend's Midi, but I haven't needed to yet.

Thanks everyone for the responses so far.  There's a question nagging me though, does the tool end of the D36/32 fit into the extractor end of the D27/32?

Here's the two different 36mm ends:https://www.festoolusa.com/accessory/500671---d-3632-dm-ascthttps://www.festoolusa.com/accessory/500670---d-36-dm-asct

They both say "for all power tools with D36 flange and cleaning accessories" so I suspect the tool end is the same though the 36/32 doesn't appear to have the bayonet fitting. But the bayonet fitting isn't used for hose-to-hose connection so I think that would be fine.
