I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but the Consolidated List of Festool Links (Reviews, Videos, Brochures, Manuals etc) has so many dead links it's getting more frustrating than helpful.
I know it's a lot of maintenance to keep these type of threads current so I thought I'd chip in by going through the General and Drilling sections. Here's wha I found:
The four links to the official Festool sites all work.
The following links still are functional: Highland Woodworking article, the CDD12 review from Benchmark and the TDK 15.6 review by Bill Esposito
And that's all. Out of 69 links only 7 work. Since the thread was last edited in 2010 I guess that's to be expected.
And it's the same in other sections. I've not checked every link or even a majority, but over the years I've gone looking for something I saw before only to find lot of the links I remember being useful have gone to that big hyperlink graveyard in the sky.
Maybe a few of the members could take a section, check the links and report back with results. Then the mods could delete those links from the thread. There wouldn't be as many links but at least they'd work. Right now clicking on any link at random is a crapshoot with the results heavily favoring the house.
Is that reasonable? Anybody want to volunteer? Or should the thread just be "un-stickied" and left to die a natural death?
Best,
Bill
