All barges were cut out of home grown Douglas Fir from southern timber in devon.
House was built in 1905 and is a joy to work on.
Original barge boards split on the south facing side as they were so exposed.
They hand been hand cut and I can only imagine how long it took them.
We used jig saws and it took about 1.5 hours to mark up and cut a 4m lenght.
 
Very nice.

I have a project like that in the works for the oldest standing house in my little town.

 
Looks good, fun project!  Did you make some type of jig to draw the shapes over and over again? I like that type of house construction very much.

Yes, we made up a 6mm mdf jig. It was a bit tricky as each apex was different and we wanted to get the spacing to look balanced.

There were five apexs in total.

It is a big old house with fifteen bedrooms.
