Any of you got the dewalt or tried it?
Just curious about how you feel about it,i was at my local Woodcraft store i was playing with the Dewalt just to see how it was compared to the festool.
Well, after about 5 minutes,i can tell you that i don't like it.The plunge mechanism was really weird.
The way it is design is that you need to push forward and push down to plunge, but the saw wants to move forward on the guide.
I did not cut anything with it,so i can't comment on performance.
Anyone like to add to this?

I got mine when they first came onto the market UK. I loved it then and I love it now. The action you talk about took  three or four cuts to get used to and then its just becomes the normal thing to do. I've used it to trim umpteen doors in-situ, it's cut loads and loads of MDF for built in cabinets, no end of sink cut-outs in worktops, and  the other week I even used it to slice and cut up some oak sleepers for a mantelpiece I was asked to build. When you want to cut to a depth you set it at the depth you want, put it on the track and that's the depth it cuts to. Not a millimetre more or less. Its accurate, well made, and reliable, its just a pity that its yellow ;D.

I agree with Mr Eastbourne Handyman. I picked the 18v cordless job up from ebay and have been really impressed with it. In spite of the slightly odd angle of the plunge pivot it does feel intuitive after a few goes and moves on the track extremely smoothly. I also really like the anti kickback lock which you can select to stop it moving backwards on the track.  Nice solid feel to the tool, like most Dewalt stuff.

Having said all of that, I've never had the pleasure of fingering a festool TS55...I imagine it to be silky smooth and beautiful to handle...I can only dream!
