Finally tried out the DF500.  I purchased it as part of the Festool A Friend and before price increase.  Still hurt the credit card.  So started with book case tool shelf for workshop to learn.  12mm plywood. My thoughts:
Keeping it.
Cleaner and faster than my dowell max, single tool and easy to relocate to next cut.
Fix a goof up location in unseen side by just glueing in domino and cutting flush.
Thus, Painters tape my friend to keep reference surfaces straight.

Oh btw, -30 Celsius this morning in my part of Canada

Looks neat, it's always good to workout the learning curve of a new tool on useful workshop project.

Btw, +42 in my part of Aus today, which just goes to prove wherever you are in the world the weather can be a pain, it's too hot for concreting which is pushing our project further behind time.

Yes, those temp extremes make projects and life difficult to manage.

Wonder what other rookie Domino users are experiencing?
