Df500 plunge depth adjust problem.

I've had my DF500 about four years.  From day 1 the depth adjustment (the metal lever not the plastic clip) has been very stiff to adjust.  After my last project I gave the tool a good clean and lube.  I can now flip between all the depth settings with minimal force - EXCEPT for the 28 mm (the deepest setting), which I can't get in at all.  I'm reluctant to use more than finger strength to get it in.
Any ideas how to fix this?  I don't want to start a random disassembly of an expensive precision tool.

Interesting. I've never seen this part with any issues. I would call Festool Monday and get a recommendation from them.

Is there something stuck in there? Wood chip?
You're talking about the 2-part knob system on the left side
below the on/off knob?

I managed a few wood pieces in there and couldnt get past 20
I took off the base and all was free moving and seen there was
crap in there. Air chucked and good to go.

Other than that, what Chris said

I does seem like it's jamming on something but I sure can't find it.  I'll call Festool.
