I have been eyeing the new Kapex stand and extension wings, so emailed three UK dealers with request for
price.

24 hours later not one reply, am I expecting to much, I am sure they cant be that busy.  [eek]

If you're just after pricing, it's on the Festool UK site (though obviously at full price).

As these are accessories, dealers can at their descretion discount them, up to 20%. I've seen some online dealers listing prices at 15% discount, and one listing them at the maximum 20%.

It may well be that they haven't replied because either a) they don't know about the new products, or b) they don't have them in stock so don't see it as a priority. It is bad customer service though.

On a similar vein I've personally visited 3 Festool dealers (2 on Friday, 1 this morning) hoping to see some of the new products. Not one of them had any of the new stuff. One of them didn't know anything about any new products; one of them had heard a rumour that there was 'some kind of cordless jigsaw' coming out 'at some point'; the one this morning I didn't even bother asking.

On the plus side though, the postie brought me my Festool Swiss Army knife this morning!

Mines on its way  [big grin]

I know what you mean about the dealers I had a row the other day with mine. The guys who work there are fine but their manager is an a**ehole. I went in the other day after posting on here about Makita systainers to see if they could get me one they tried but after me phoning and going in there I was told they couldnt. Then a few weeks ago someone on here pointed me to a few sites with Makita systainers with new code numbers. I went back and asked if they could try this code number and was told bluntly NO the guy told me that his manager told him not to bother doing anything for me  >:(

The manager apeared and I said thanks I spend thousands in here every year for years and I ask for one small thing and you cant be bothered.

My little rant over  [big grin]

I got the same problem here in South Africa now with my favorite dealer - not knowing about new products etc. After a good chat with my favorite sales lady, it turns out that the "new" importer (about a year or so now) does not keep them informed. There are more problems than that with this new importer, but I'm busy dealing with those issues on a different platform.
I was quick to think my dealer was not staying up to date, but found out the importer was not doing his job. Checked with other distributors in my area and they all have the same hassles.
Just a thought.

Why don't they know anything about the new tools or accessories?

It's ok, Most of the dealers I have visited knew very little about very little.

Although the guy in toledo, oh knew his stuff and had one of almost everything.

I don't know if they just really don't want to keep up or if there is someone that is
supposed to let them know about things and they just are not doing it.

I mean, the internet makes it kind of seem like they should have a slight clue.

If you put what area of the uk you are situated in your profile someone may be able to direct you to a local dealer who wants your custom.
Though I know my dealer prefers customers in their shop over online requests/sales, in fact last time I checked their website only the TS55 and TS75
were showing!! However in-store they are very helpful and easy going, best of all, they listen!
