Hi. I have the Festool Kapex machine.
I am thinking of buying the Festool TKS 80 machine.
I am seeing that the Kapex machine has 260 mm discs. The TKS 80 machine has 254 mm discs.
The disks of one machine, good for the other?
Can the discs be interchanged?
Can you put other disk measurements? Thank you.

Hmnn, no replies in 2 years, so I'll be the first then!

I have both machines, really annoying that they do not share a standard blade size - it seems so obvious that they should, but I suppose Fetool make more money if you buy two of each!

I would say you can use the smaller diameter blade from the TKS 80 table saw in the Chop saw, but not the other way around. I purchased a specialist aluminium blade for the table saw and have used it in the Kapex, I simply put some 9mm ply on the bed of the Kapex to lift the work slightly - it worked perfectly.

You've probably found this out for yourself by now, but just in case!

Cheers

Stephen

Maybe the reason is not to use blades designed for circular/table saw (deferent thickness and chip angle) in their mitre saws. My kapex’s blade is noticeable stiffer than hk85’s blades although they are smaller diameter and the same thickness.
