Our youngest daughter got a dog this year, and asked me to make a dog bowl stand.  This was actually my first project using my new TS55 REQ.

The stand started with a plywood box, and that box has to be the most precise box I've ever built!  It got covered with thin cherry-veneered MDF.  Edges are cherry outside casing, and top edges are cherry top cap trim.  A single 8" x 16" tile is inset in the top.

Finish is dark walnut gel stain, followed by wipe on satin polyurethane.

Our daughter was visiting today, so I gave it to her.  She was thrilled.  Dog was not overly impressed,.frankly.

Looks great, impressive finish.

This dog, my dog would have loved it last Thursday for his water bowl, with temp C40 outside. Here he is in front of AC.

VERY nice work. It's obvious that lots of love went into that.

I love dogs (have 3 of them) but I STILL think that's too nice for a dog. Looks like it belongs in a library or pastors study or something.

:o

Thanks for the nice comments.  If that dog chews off a corner, I am going to be very upset.  [smile]

Actually though, it was a test to see what I could do with the track saw.  The plywood box and the veneered MFDF panels were using the track saw.  The trim was done on my compound miter saw.  No Kapex yet ... maybe after the Domino, and RO 90.

You could almost bank on that happening!

I don't see why unless its a puppy.  Every dog we have had only chewed stuff around the house when they were a puppy apart from one which has never chewed anything even from pup.

Quite right, I said it would happen because Leer had 'invited' the possibility of it happening by his comment.
