Thinking about making some interior doors for bedrooms and closets. I currently have the Domino 500. Will I be good to make doors or is the Domino 700 a must for making doors?
I thik the Domino 500 will work, gotta double up on the dominos. You could also use the router bits for interior exterior doors with the 500. Thats what Im going to do. Use the largest domino , double it up (4 or even 6 per joint then use the router bits.

If one goes by your choice of words "interior doors", the DF700 is definitely not a must. Double or twin double mortises made with the DF500, depending on the R&S design and the thickness of stock used, would be strong enough for any interior doors. The joinery stress on any interior doors would be smaller than that on a chair or pedestal table, many of which have been built by us woodworkers with the DF500.
If budget is not a consideration, the DF700 is, of course, a nice-to-have addition in your situation.
I’d suggest interior doors would be served well with a 500. Think 1 1/2” or 1 5/8” thickness vs 1 3/4” thickness for exterior doors. Panel thickness is also thinner along with glass thickness, dual glazed vs single glazed for interior doors. There’s a reason why they usually use 2 hinges on inside doors vs the 3 they use on exterior doors.
If you’re making them cope and stick you’d be fine with the 500. I used the Freud door bit set and whatever the biggest dominos I could do with the 500. I just used 2 per joint and no doubling up. Made 60 something 8’ doors mostly 36” wide out of walnut, they were some heavy doors. That was about 4 years ago at my parents house and none of them have fallen apart yet. I’ve intentionally broken cabinet doors I made that got messed up and it’s the wood that breaks not the glue joint so I figured it was just like that with a lot more wood that would have to break. Just make sure it’s a good glue up and leave it clamped at least overnight. Or if you want an excuse to get the 700 then making doors is a good one.
