I just shipped off my Domino 700 to Festool Repair.
It was making slanted mortises. I've had the machine since 2014 and I think it has always had this problem, but not as bad.
Yes, I am a very experienced Domino user with literally hundreds of 500 and 700 Dominos used. I plunge smoothly and the bits are new and I have the same problem with different bit sizes. The problem occurs using the fence as a base and it occurs using the base as a reference. The fence measures to be perfectly parallel to the base. My assumption is that the bit's side-to-side axis has shifted out of plumb with the tool's base.
The projects I've done with the 700 were such that the slanted mortises could be overcome with a little more clamp pressure.
I know this is not a unique problem with the 700.
Question... Has Festool Repair been able to correct the problem?
