Even though I have had the Domino 700 for several months, other than a few test cuts I didn't really use it until yesterday. One of the reasons I purchased this was for a bed construction project and I needed the deeper plunge depth than the 500 would do. I then quickly discovered that the 8 mm cutter plunge depth limit is 50 mm and NOT the 70 mm depth the Festool catalog and website implies. Fortunately, I had enough margin in my slat width to accommodate a 10 mm Domino so was able to achieve the required depth.
I suggest that Festool provide an indication in their literature of the 8 mm cutter plunge depth limit. On a more positive note, the 700 is an awesome machine.
