Thanks to Ronwen, I'm having a much easier time with the Domino. The domiplate rules.
I just made a bunch of frames for a project, and the ability to clamp the plate down for accurate mortises really shined.
Only problem now is, it's been 4 years and I'm only now discovering that the alignment marks on the underside are out of alignment, by a full mm, so every joint made with the base plate reference marks is 2mm off.
It's an old style pin-reference fence, not paddles. I like the pins, they work well with my drilled-hole story stick jigs. So I'm not about to send it in for a warranty claim.
Anybody know of a way to realign the base plate? Or do I need to buy a new fence?
