I've been using my Domino to cut the slat mortises for Jennie Alexander-style chairs. It works great since those rear posts are flat where the slats go in. I've been learning to build Shaker-style chairs and can't quite figure out how to hold the posts securely to do the same thing. The Shaker posts are rounded and bent before cutting the slat mortises. The posts also taper as they go up. My first thought was some type of holding apparatus clamped to my bench with flat sections to register the Domino against. Before I try building that, I thought I would ask if anyone else has run into a similar need for using a Domino on round stock. I've been mortising by hand for now, but I'm not great at it and it takes more time than I'd like.
