Domino DF 500 - is the connectors strong enough for bed frame

New to Festool and I am making a Queen size bed frame. I just purchased a DF 500 and I am wondering if the connectors will be strong enough to use on the side rails to attach to the legs. Want to be able to break down to move. I know the XL DF 700 would probably be the preferred connectors of choice.

I personally wouldn't use the 8mm ones for a bedframe, but I have a 700 XL and dislike flimsy bed frame constructions (as I prefer waterbeds that have higher requirements regarding structural load than a normal mattress has).

On the other hand many off-the-shelve bed frames these days are just made with sides from some

I built a king bed frame and headboard using the 700 connectors. Each corner had one connector and one solid Domino. The bed was built for a young couple with a very active 3 year old boy who uses the bed for a trampoline. The bed is still rock solid after more than a year.

I have the 500 connectors but would absolutely not use them for a bed frame. I’m not a structural engineer, but I do have a good eye for what works. I don’t think the 500 connectors have the beef to resist the stresses a bed frame receives.

I just got myself the 500 connectors, not something I'd use for a bedframe. I do highly recommend bed rail fasteners, even easier to knock down than a bolted connection and totally concealed. There are rail fasteners for a center rail as well for larger beds.
