I wonder if anyone can help me? I noticed an empty 'hole' on my Domino the other day (bought secondhand a few years ago) and never noticed it before  [embarassed]
domino missing piece

Looking at the parts diagram it would appear that there are a few pieces missing.  Specifically

10  469040
11  761515
29 400901 (possibly)

I have a couple of questions.

1) The Domino seems to work just fine without them although sometimes some minor errors in position creep in which I had put down to my own mistakes (but now I'm beginning to wonder).

2) Where (in the UK) would one get these items ?

TIA

For parts I would suggest that you contact the Festool UK service department after they reopen following the holidays (January 5th).  Festool is not known for putting unnecessary parts on the tools so I would suggest getting all your missing parts to ensure proper operation.

Wishing you a Great 2015!

Many thanks guys.  Wuffles, yes, I believe so. If you click on the image you can see an enlarged version.  The black lever on the other side is there and seems to secure the angle OK and I take Peter's valid point onboard.

I've looked at it enlarged already, just trying to place the framed part of the image.

So the black lever is there on the other side? There's only one lever on mine for the angle, the other one is for the depth of the work piece.

Same here.  My sense is that there should be a captive screw and washer simply holding the angle slide in place It wouldn't lock the slide per se as that is done by the black knob but it would give some vertical stability I guess at that end.

Looking at my Domino 500 from the angle of your photo, you should see the head of a shaft that goes through the body of the Domino's vertically moving fence. The other end of the shaft has a black lever that is used to lock the angle of the fence into position (from 0-90 degrees). Without this shaft and locking lever, you can't fix the fence's angle. If you pull up the Domino 500 manual online, the  first picture shows, from your picture's angle, the missing part.

That is one of the missing bits, I believe.

I have the locking lever and it locks the angle OK. It is secured with another part 22  465575 which is captive within the vertically moving fence.  I think that the shaft you refer to screws into the other end of this part 22 and then at the other end of this shaft is a simple screw and washer that gives some stability to the angle piece whilst letting it slide.

I was able to pull up a parts diagram from the Festool site.

It shows the long shaft (#10), 2 washers(#11), a short shaft (#22), the lever (#26), and what looks like a screw (#27) that holds the lever onto the short shaft. From the OP's picture, it looks like parts #10 and #11 are missing. I can't tell if any other parts are missing.

I can't tell from the picture, but it may be possible to lock down the lever side of the fence without the missing shaft. However, the other side of the fence wouldn't be correctly fixed in place without the long shaft.

Yes, it's exactly as birdhunter described. A shaft running through, never really noticed before. It can't be tightening very well without it, but then the maximum position seems to be 90 degrees, so I guess unless you've tried anything out of the ordinary then it'd be ok until now?

I only posted the link for thetoolstoredirect at the start because they "said" in stock. Other than that, I can highly recommend Miles Tools and Machinery for parts, but I kinda doubt it'd be in stock. In fact, I kind of doubt it'll be in stock with the first lot either, but you never know.

Best of luck.

The OP mentioned positioning errors in the initial post. With one side of the fence free to move (minus the shaft), I'm not surprised there have been problems in getting the accurate results on would expect from a Domino.

I wonder if the original seller might still have the part.

Perhaps, Festool could asked to supply the parts. I've found Festool USA to be extremely helpful. I've gotten parts from them in just a few days.

Many thanks everyone for all the help.  Will try and get the parts when everything is back to normal.

Good Luck with that!  Not getting the parts, but waiting 'til everything is back to normal.  Haven't experienced that, yet in my lifetime! LOL :o
