Is there a  limit on the plunge depth when the domino is turned off?
I have just had my domino delivered, it hasn't yet been fired up in anger. As woodworking is a hobby, it is not appropriate for me to fire it up here at work, but in fiddling with it I noticed that the tool doesn't plunge any deeper than level with the locating pins, regardless of the depth settings. Is this normal.

I just checked with my domino and it plunges all the way to the desired depth when it is off.

Ah - seems like there is some initial stiffness, which once overcome, results in the full plunge depth.

nobody could successfully argue that wasn't a slightly purple statement.

An update on this thread ...

Turns out that my domino is faulty. The spring loaded resistance mechanism  in the right hand (longer) plunge bearing has a tight bit that would sometimes see the spring stick. That meant that for the first part of the plunge, I was only pressing against one spring. I then made contact with the other one, and there would be some resistance before it would plunge. The amount of that resistance would vary. Depending on the plunge depth, sometimes there would be no resistance because I was plunging against one spring only.

Anyway, it is back to the dealer, and within a few days I will hopefully have a replacement. Now I am just grappling with whether to get the dealer to send me a MFT when returning the new domino fence. ;D

You owe it to the planet to combine as much shipping together as possible, so they only have to burn dino-juice once. Save the Humans!

sg, if you get the MFT, you won't able to resist the circular saw and vac, so you may as well add them to your order now.

already have a ts 55 and a ct22. Hopefully by by this time tomorrow (if the online auction gods look favourably) I will also have a rotex 150.
