Questions for you all, when you use your Sketchup/AutoCAD/Solidworks/etc CAD software to design your project, how do you write down the domino reference faces, height, depth, and edge distance information on the piece drawing. Basically what is your system of domino placement information on your CAD drawings?

I’ll share mine tomorrow because I don’t have the information on the current PC, but generally, I write “ref” on faces where the domino height fence goes, H: ## for the height setting, D: ## for the depth setting, E: ## for the edge setting.

I don’t go to that level of detail. I use SketchUp a lot but primarily for dimensions and approach.  I will insert dados or rabbets but have not seen the need for detailed dovetail, finger joint, domino or similar joinery that is more detailed.

Your labeling technique will certainly work.  I usually create a model, then a rough layout on 4x8 so I can figure out cut sequence and potential for breaking down sheets or lumber for transport from lumber yard to a home shop.  I can understand the layout of dominos need if you are in a production environment for details.
