Domino with tenon

Im building a workbench .domino didn't arrive ,and had some time so have made mortice and tenon joints

Was thinking if the domino turns up before I glue it all together il domino through the face of the timber and then a couple of mm offset on the tenon ..put the tenon together and then bang a domino in to pull the shoulder up ..
I've not had a domino before

Do you think this will work
Has anyone done this before
Do you think it will be worth the effort ..if nothing else could look quite neat

well im going to do one anyway il post some picks

its a similar principle to fixing a newel post onto  a stair string .we always used to dowel through the face of the newel after.
