I am at the six week mark using my Domino 500. While I have a metric wrench set if the supplied wrench is mislaid, I can easily see how the wrench can disappear into the maw of my shop clutter. With all their genius designers, why can’t Festool find a place to snap the wrench on to the body of the Domino 500 ?  I considered wrench keeping alternatives from a simple magnet turning the wrench into a refrigerator magnet; letting it reside on the work table leg to just drilling a hole in the handle and adding a length of string, again attaching it tp the table leg. I considered a simple neck lanyard similar to those used at conventions for name badges.  I chose a more deluxe solution.  I drilled the wrench handle and attached it to a Ski LIft-Pass retractable lanyard. I attach it to my painter bib overalls, my costume of choice for the shop. The reach of the lanyard is sufficient to allow use of the wrench at table level. A simple twist tie could also be used to secure it to the table leg out of the way but ready for a cutter change.

On the subject of this lowly wrench…  At least the company could offer the wrench with a hole in the handle so it could be hung in a visible place or attached to a neck lanyard or string. The optimum change would be to not only offer the wrench with a hole in the handle but one with a mm scale along the handle to match the height adjustment index. Of course, those geniuses at Festool are probably going to change the cutter chuck to one that is hand turned and there will be no wrench in the future.

Slick idea.  But how about keeping it with your Domino bits? If you can't find the bits, you don't need the wrench. [wink]  However, there are those days when I get tired of picking up everything I clumsily drop.  On those days I shouldn't be around power tools, though.  Just thinking.
