Guys, no harm no foul! Please dont feel bad. I'm new to woodworking outside of skateboard ramps.

Don't have much experience with hardwoods. I'm making a hanging bed for a screened-in porch. May get wet. Need to paint white. I'd love to use something like Ipe and not paint but my wife is an interior designer, so I have no say.....;)

Nice ramp, that looks like a very cool project to build. [thumbs up]

I'd suggest white oak for your bed project.  It's readily available, reasonably priced, rot resistant and you can paint it.  Remember, white oak and red oak are two different animals when it comes to exterior use, white oak-good, red oak-bad. [big grin]

Nice Ramp stokely,

Brings back memories of the 80's and early 90's when I was into BMX freestyling and quarterpipe/halfpipe jumping.

Nice  build.
