Drill battery replacements

I need a second new battery for my C12, it originally came with 2.4 nicad batteries, and I was really pleased with their performance.  Last year I bought one replacement 3.0 nimh battery (cost £85) which again I'm pleased with.  Another new 3.0 nimh battery will cost £95, so I'm thinking of a way to get better value from this purchase.

Here's the plan....  I'm thinking of buying a brand new t12 drill set (right angle and offset chuck included) which comes with 2 no.  2.0 nimh batteries for £299 complete  I will then sell the right angle chuck for £50 (buyer already) and maybe £40 for the offset chuck on ebay - I already have these - and use one of the batteries for my c12 and then buy one li-ion battery (cost £75) for use with the T12.

Any thoughts?  Does anyone have experience of the 2.0 nimh batteries, how do they compare to the 2.4 nicad batteries?

It's rather unfortunate that we get stung in the UK for replacement batteries, the c12 is 2005 model but runs as good as new, so I want to continue to use it as my main drill.

Thanks
