DTS 400EQ + RST400EQ

Are the pads interchangable on these sanders? The bodies of these sanders look the same, is it possiable? I need to replace my P/C 1/4 sheet sander that I use on sandering sealer and am hopeing that the dust removal is better.

Yikes, good catch Eijy. I misread the initial post. I was thinking DTS 400 and the DS 400 pads. The RTS and DTS pads ARE NOT interchangeable.

Check the parts diagram for the DS 400 against the parts diagram for the RS 400. IMO the only differences are Details 34 & 36 on both sanders. Be your own judge. :

It does look like the pads can be swapped out. Not exactly fast-fix speed when you have to remove and re-attach 8 screws to change pads. Just buy both sanders and you'll save a ton of time. only an extra 190.00 ;D

Thanks for input, I didn't think to look at parts diagram. 95% of time I'll be using sander between finish coats. Am looking forward to smaller size (less chance of rounding edges on narrow stock), and better dust collection.
Eiji, You gotta stop somewere, I still need the MFT 1080, in line sander and try and save for the Kapex when it comes out.

No, you would need to get the baseplate for the sanders, not just the pad.

I got a set up for the RS/DS.  I bought a DS, then the parts to convert to a RS.  Eventually got a deal on the RS.  Still have not used the parts to convert.  When I think about it I'll post them in "For Sale".  There is a 00489215 (Plate with screws) and a Standard H&L pad.
