DTS400, 400 hybrid, or Rotex 90?

I'm in the market for another sander... Mostly for corners but also narrow edges, stair work, door and window finishing.  The DTS 400 req seems the natural choice. But the cordless/corded hybrid set seems like it has a place too... Then there is the ro90, with a more aggressive stroke. Thoughts? Reviews? Cost isn't an issue. I need a sander and I have work to justify a specialty sander. But I don't want to get something impractical.

If it’s all new work then the DTS for sure. If it is all remodel work and so you are sanding through layers of old paint, now I might have to think about the RO90. I had to refinish two interior barn doors for my daughter that had a light stain color (on a new door) that did not work. I bought the DTS and it was great. Actually quite a bit more powerful then I thought it would be. The barn doors had so many angles I had to sand into and so many edges to sand up to and on. I remember thinking that with this 2mm sander it was going to take forever to get the old stain off and that I might have to break out the Rotex for the bulk of the flat work but I did not. I just got some 80 grit and went to town. Many of the angles were less than 90 degrees and the DTS would not quite fit in there so I used it up on edge and at every angle. If you buy the DTS I would buy and extra sanding pad so you could have one that you keep nice and another sacrificial one for tough to get into places.

The Rotex has its use but it's not very ergnomic compared to a DTS 400. Which in turn isn't as ergonomic as a Mirka DEOS (which also has significantly more power). If you do mostly edges and 90 degree corners I'd go for a DEOS, if you need something ergonomic for corner work, the DTS, if you need to strip a lot of narrow frames or boards and don't mind working two-handed the RO90 is great, and it can do the occasional corner work as well (if you invest in yet more sandpaper).
