Hi guys,

A quick question regarding the DuraDrive drywall screwgun. Does it also work with 15V batteries and if so, is there anything else I should know about how it impacts performance?

Kind regards,
Jonathan

Yes, the 18v ScrewGun will work with the 15v batteries. Also 12v batteries.  All festool cordless will work with any battery of lower voltage than it was designed for.

Normally there is a just a little reduction in top speed/power, as a result of using lower voltage batteries.

Would highly advise against using 15v in the autofeed. I accidentally did and the screws wouldn't flush up to the surface and the impacting micro feed would kick in with 10mm proud whilst still in the collated strip. Defiantly look at getting at least one 18v of all you have is 15

Whoah, craigscott. That is interesting info!

I feel I have now led Jonathan up the garden path. But festool are consistently touting the compatibility of their battery range. Indeed the fact that they will fit, really means they should work sufficiently.

In fact there was even a similar looking drywall screw gun in the old protool line that was a 12v tool.

Perhaps one just needs to stay away from larger drywall screws when using the 'smaller' batteries?

Mine is the 2500 version as it has more torque than the 4500 one and if i use a 15 v battery it does not sink the screws flush sometimes not all the time just now and again so to sum up you can use them but its not ideal
