Dust collection and a Porter Cable shop vacuum

All,

I will likely get a TS 55 and MFT/3 combination this summer, and a domino cutter (though I just saw something new about an XL domino?).  Anyway, long story short, I don't want to buy a festool vacuum.  I already have a porter cable 7812, it's worked like a champ for years.

I called Festool, and they told me the domino and TS 55 use the same dust collection hose.  But, they had no idea whether any of their couplers would fit on a porter cable oem 7812 hose.

Has anyone used a 7812 vacuum with their festool equipment?  Which coupler?

Alternatively, has anyone ordered anything from mrnozzleinc.com which connects to the 7812 and the festools?

thanks in advance

The vac end of the Mr Nozzle hose fits both my Sears shopvac and the Festool CT22.  The tool end will not fit any Festool tool without making some sort of adapter.  The hose is also stiff enough that it might not be the best for use with sanders, etc.

I used my 7812 with my Kapex. The hose end slides right inside of the one on the Kapex and stays there. I do not feel it has the suction of the Festool vac so I am ordering one with my TS75. Hope that helps.

Hi,

I don't know what the vac port is like on the PC but the Festool hose vac ends fit most shop vacs. Giving you the option of just getting the Festool hose. And since the PC is probably not an antistatic vac you could get the non-antistatic Festool hose to save some dollars. The D27 diameter will fit both the TS55 and the Domino.

I bought a Fein hose end; it fit my vacuum hose and works for all Festools.  I got Fein because it was half the price of Festool.
IIRC the hose was off an old Hoover Garage Vac, but I expect they are all more or less the same.
