Dust extraction attachment AH-OF 1400

I am new. I just bought a festool OF 1400. It is as beautiful machine and I already love it.
Tje problem I have is the following: I am making a lot of drawers and use a dovetail jig and I bought the Dust extraction attachment  AH-OF 1400 for the 'side-way' dust extraction.
The first problem is that this device is not able to connect with the dust-hose (D27/32 mm) that came with my CTL-Midi.
Second problem is that the iron rods (standard part that comes with the OF 1400) can not be fastened .... when turning the knob when the rods are in, it does not fasten.

Ant thoughts / help ??

Does the steel plate on the underside of the attachment move when the knob is turned?

Is the steel plate actually present?

Are the rods above the plate or under it?

  I am surprised the hose doesn't push into the connection.  Can you add pics showing what / how you are trying to attach the hose and rods?

Photos would be helpful, we use 1400s in our shop with the dust collectors all the time and we have two different 1400, one with the old collector fitting where the hose goes in and one with the new fitting where it goes over. We also have several festool hoses with both the old and new end connections. All of the hoses will fit either fitting for us. The hoses go on hard sometimes but that is what holds them on when we are working. So I better understand is this the connection on the dust port that fits around the bit? Or the connection on the edge guide?

Thanks - in the mean time we (me and festool service)  found that the part of the device where the rods are fixed did not work properly - festool immediately replaced it .... what a great service - they made me a fan for live  [thumbs up]

But that was only one of the issues you mentioned. Do you mean the bajonet hose end drops out?
