Hello,
Can you advise me as to which dust extractor would be a good match for my Precisio CS 70 EB.  The C1 mini does not seem to be up to the job as there is still a lot of saw dust on and around the saw.  Would the 26 be a better choice or make little difference?
Thanks,
Ron B.

The current CTL Mini has almost the same suction as the bigger vacs like the CTL 26. Stepping up to the 26 will make a small difference, but not a lot.

I mainly use the CTL 26 with my CS70 and I still find a lot of dust. I just think that a mobile vac is not that effective with a table saw, you need a bigger extractor for that, like a cyclone.

I am almost always outdoors with my CS70, so I can live with some dust. If you're in the shop then Festool vacs just aren't enough to control all the dust.

I experience the same with my Precisio CS 50 and the CMS-OF.

The main problem lies in the Y-adapter which splits into 2 hoses.
With this the airflow is divided between the 2 hoses and therefore every hose gets less suction.
It depends on the diameter of the hoses how much suction every hose gets.
Try using just one hose on the bottom of the saw or dust cap above the blade.

What neeleman says is right, the suction is divided by the Y hose.

I once did an experiment using two vacs, I connected the CTL Mini to the top and the CTL 26 to the bottom of the saw. Dust collection was noticeably better, but still not dustless.

On my CMS I usually block off one hose or the other depending on the bit being run. Extract from the bottom when routing dados and from the top when shaping. I'm using a midi.

with my cs70 I use the 36 extractor with the hose and y adapter, I have very little dust if any outside of the saw.

To block the narrow hose.......empty tube  of berroca fits perfect.
